Install, Manage and Troubleshoot Cisco Routers

With more and more companies moving to cloud computing, it’s critical for Linux administrators and engineers to have a solid understanding of basic networking concepts. This intensive 4-day class provides the hands-on experience that you need to be able to install, configure, manage and troubleshoot Cisco routers in a small- to medium-sized network.

While this class is not focused on certification preparation, you will leave with a deeper knowledge of the CCNA exam topics, and a jump-start on the additional study you’ll need to do in order to be fully prepared for the actual CCNA certification test.

Who Should Take This Class?

Our classes aren’t easy. In fact, they’re downright hard. Think of it as an intense workout for your engineering brain. If you’re not ready to sweat the details and work harder than ever before, our classes aren’t for you.

This 4-day course is designed and highly recommended for Systems Administrators and Engineers who want a more robust set of skills, as well as existing IT professionals who want to develop a solid understanding of Cisco router configuration and management.

Participants in this class should already be at the Systems Administrator or Network Administrator level in a small- to medium-sized production network, with a desire to gain more in-depth knowledge of Cisco network device configuration and management.

By Engineers, For Engineers

SteelPivot’s unique learning methodology, Full Immersion Training (FIT), is unlike any other in the industry. Our focus is on the complete engineer, not just the basics of Cisco, how to use a particular vendor’s product, or how to pass a certification test.

It’s been proven that people learn best in small-group environments. That’s why our Network Administration 210 class is taught by two (2) instructors and limited to no more than four (4) students. Our instructors are also working senior Cisco engineers employed full-time by SteelPivot, who practice what they teach by identifying and solving real client problems when they’re not teaching class.

Based on the simple idea that the best way to learn is by doing, you will be taught in a hands-on lab where you’ll be encouraged to experiment and take risks – preparing you to work confidently in a full production environment.

What You Should Already Know

You will get the most out of this class – and be more successful applying what you learn – if you know your level of Cisco expertise. That’s why pre- and post-tests are mandatory for every class. Besides making sure you have the following core skills in place, these tests are a great way for you to benchmark your own progress.

  • Understanding of standard PC hardware (motherboard and BIOS, CPU, RAM)
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (ARP, PING, MAC address, IP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IP address structure, format and syntax
  • Knowledge of basic Windows or Linux server network configuration
